What does a voice coach do?

The work of a voice coach is entirely practical. You can learn simple techniques that will strengthen and improve your voice. Through exercise and development you can build a stronger voice and improve your confidence. There's no such thing as a perfect voice. You have to find your own voice and that will express who you are. In any situation where you must speak in front of other people, however few, you will need help with the following:-

Breath control is essential - it is your vital energy and the way you control your nerves.

Voice projection and quality - can you be heard and how do you sound?

Clear speech and diction - the muscles of the mouth and tongue need exercise. Exercise builds up stamina.

Greater variety of expression - a great deal can be done to improve and extend this.

Speech content is very important - the way we speak is very different from the way we write. Learn to structure and organize what you want to say.

Presentation skills - all of the above will give you greater confidence to present yourself well in any situation.
